A Heathrow spokesman said airport staff were continuing to monitor the situation.
"It is crucial that our plans maximise the benefits of expansion across the country, including for the communities closest to us", said Emma Gilthorpe, Heathrow's Executive Director for Expansion.
Speaking to the BBC, a Heathrow spokesperson said the airport's administration were working with the police to "prevent any threat to operational safety".
It comes just weeks after a drone crippled Gatwick airport and grounded more than 1,000 flights.

The Metropolitan Police have also said: "At approx 17:05hrs today we received reports of a sighting of a drone in the vicinity of Heathrow airport".
Heathrow and Gatwick responded by ordering military-grade anti-drone defenses worth "several million pounds".

Following the end to the initial drone-related disturbance at Gatwick, Security Minister Ben Wallace said: "I can say that we are able to now deploy detection systems throughout the United Kingdom to combat this threat".
