Apex Legends promises to deliver a squad-based battle royale experience with a uniquely Respawn flavor. If you're starting to get a little worn out over Fortnite or PUBG, this may be the alternative battle royale game for you.
Apex Legends allows players to choose between eight "Legend" characters, each with unique abilities and play styles. It appears that Apex Legends will feature seasons and themed events similar to Fortnite, except that some of these events will add new characters to the game as well.
Even though Titanfall 3 doesn't now seem to be on the docket, EA and Respawn Entertainment have made it clear that Apex Legends is a game they intend for players to consistently return to over time and create new stories. A Kotaku report suggests that the game was "well into development" as of 2017, and was set to launch a year ago, but based on McCoy's comments it seems that work on that Titanfall 3 has essentially morphed into Apex Legends. If you're unable to rescue them before they die, you'll be able to bring them back to life by grabbing a Legend Banner from where they died, and taking it to a Respawn Beacon.
