Barr is taking less money to re-sign with the Vikings, per MMQB's Albert Breer. As Minnesota signed Danielle Hunter and Stefon Diggs to lucrative extensions last offseason, it appeared that Barr would be out of the fold after failing to come to an agreement prior to the 2018 season. Similar players like Mosley and Kwon Alexander were both given contracts totaling well over $10 million per year, so it's likely Barr is in store for a nice payday.
With incentives, the deal could reach $77.5 million for Barr. The Vikings declined to franchise tag Barr by the deadline last week.
Shortly thereafter, the Lions agreed to terms on a five-year deal worth about $17 million to $18 million a year with former Patriots defensive end Trey Flowers. Had Barr not changed his mind, Wednesday's first day of the new league year would have been the first day he could have signed with the Jets.More news: Former vice president Cheney challenges Pence on Trump's foreign policy

Barr's contract with the Jets was set to pay him around $15 million per year, but it was not enough to keep the UCLA product from leaving the team that drafted him.
"Thank you to the Vikings organization for giving me an opportunity to do what I love to do", Murray wrote on Instagram. He had 13 1/2 sacks in five seasons, including three past year, with the Vikings. The Vikings talked with Murphy again at the combine, though the agent informed the Vikings that Barr wanted to test out his market in the NFL's negotiating window that opened on Monday.
