Miguel Andujar is facing the possibility of season-ending surgery.
The injury occurred in the Yankees series finale vs. Baltimore when Andujar dove back into third on a pickoff play. The Yankees have placed Miguel Andujar on the 10-day injured list with a right shoulder strain, the team announced.
Andujar finished second in A.L. Rookie of the Year race last season after hitting.297/.328/.527 with 27 homers and 92 RBI in 149 games.
The Yankees have a quality replacement third baseman in DJ LeMahieu, which means Wade will get playing time whenever Troy Tulowitzki rests. He batted.265 with one RBI in 15 games with NY last season.More news: Beats launches its new wireless Powerbeats Pro headphones

Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Tyson Ross delivers against the Yankees during the first inning Monday in NY. If that doesn't work, he could require surgery that would "compromise his season", Boone acknowledged Monday night. Left-hander CC Sabathia is expected to join them Wednesday after completing his five-game suspension for hitting a batter with a pitch last September.
Outfielder Clint Frazier and Wade were recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Losing Andujar for any length of time would be a major blow for the Yankees, who also have shortstop Didi Gregorius, ace Luis Severino and designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton now on the shelf. He hit.265 with nine hits and an RBI in 34 at bats past year.
Tyler Wade had a strong Spring Training for the Yankees, but hasn't played any Minor League baseball yet, as Scranton begins play on Thursday (4/4). In his 14 starts of the 2018 season, German pitched an 8.36 first-inning ERA. He was at the RailRiders' ballpark and had just showered when he got a call about 6 p.m. telling him to get to NY.
