If you're still high on the artistic triumph that was the live-action movie Pokemon: Detective Pikachu, then you may have forgotten that there's also a brand new exciting Pokemon video game coming later this year. Different Pokemon will appear in these wild areas depending on whether and daytime conditions.
New Pokemon will also appear on the map like in "Pokemon Let's Go!".
Earlier today, Game Freak debuted a new Nintendo Direct centered around Pokemon Sword and Shield. This time around, the developers are introducing something called "Dynamax", which essentially turns your cute little creature into a giant version of itself for three turns per battle.
This will also tie in to multiplayer, as online or local groups of three trainers can team up for a "Raid battle", which will be your team versus a Dynamax Pokemon.More news: ‘Dragon Quest Walk’ turns ‘Pokemon Go’ into a full-scale RPG

According to the reveal details, it sounds like certain Pokemon will only be able to be captured during these Max Raid Battles. She is now investigating the Dynamax Pokemon in the region. The new Pokemon include the flowering Pokemon Gossifleur, which evolves into Eldegoss; Wooloo the sheep Pokemon; Corviknight, which resembles a raven and is used to taxi people from town to town within the Galar region; and finally, Drednaw, a massive Pokemon with a hard shell and strong bite. We got a glimpse at the two new legendary Pokemon, too. Oh well. We still can't wait to play these games when they launch on November 15.
"If you and your allies manage to emerge victorious, you will get a chance to catch the Pokémon in a truly dynamic catch sequence", Kazumasa Iwao, planning director for Pokémon Sword and Shield explained.
To be honest, as cool as Pokemon Sword and Shield look, their overall design still seems a bit conservative and iterative.
