Kazem Gharib Abadi, Iranian ambassador to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), made the comments in Vienna during an emergency meeting called by the USA after Tehran breached the landmark 2015 nuclear deal this week.
"Remember, that deal was to expire in a short number of years", Trump said. They launched a new trade mechanism called Instrument in Support of Trade Exchanges (INSTEX) to continue trade with Iran in a non-dollar basis. "The European [parties to the deal] had enough time to salvage the pact".
Emmanuel Bonne arrived in the Iranian capital on Tuesday afternoon, French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said.
"What will happen in the third phase we have not said it yet, but if we reach to that point, definitely we will announce beforehand".
At the meeting of the 35-nation board of governors, Washington told other world powers not to give in to Tehran's "nuclear extortion".
The country announced the step three days ago, saying it wanted to be able to produce fuel for the Bushehr nuclear power plant.
However, the EU's failure to ensure Iran's economic interests forced Tehran to stop honoring certain commitments, including an unlimited rise in the stockpile of enriched uranium.
"I think they recognise that the United States, under this administration, and certainly the Israelis are dead serious about not tolerating a nuclear weapon, which would force military action".
As the Iranian economy went into free fall, Iran demanded that the other parties to the deal - especially France, Germany and Britain - deliver promised economic benefits and help it bypass the USA sanctions.More news: We've proven it's possible to have strong economy and a clean environment

Abadi said it would return to a "full implementation" of the 2015 agreement, also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), but only if "all participants" agreed.
Last month, Trump said he had called off a retaliatory military strike against Iran at the last minute after the Islamic republic shot down a USA drone that it said had crossed into its airspace, a claim denied by Washington.
He then added Iran actively pursuing obtaining a nuclear weapon would be akin to signing their own death warrant: "I also don't think they'll make a race to a nuclear weapon, because that will be the end of their regime".
The deal promised Iran sanctions relief in return for curbing its nuclear program. "The path the regime is now on will only deepen its worldwide isolation and raise the dangers it faces".
Fears of an Iran-US war have grown in recent weeks as tensions escalate.
The US had called the meeting in response to Iran's announcement last week that it had exceeded the amount of low-enriched uranium it is allowed to stockpile undera 2015 nuclear deal that the US has already pulled out of.
The United States meanwhile is seeking a Congress-approved agreement with Iran to replace the deal, the US Special Representative for Iran Brian Hook told the Al Jazeera satellite television network.
Iran has said it will disregard certain limits under the JCPOA as long as the remaining parties to the deal - in particular the UK, France and Germany - don't do more to mitigate the impact of crippling United States sanctions re-imposed after President Donald Trump withdrew from the deal in May 2018.
He was speaking after meeting Emmanuel Bonne, French President Emmanuel Macron's top diplomatic adviser, who was in Tehran for talks to help ease the crisis.
