But for fans of Ocasio-Cortez, including some of the NY congresswoman's millions of social media followers, Pelosi's remarks were nothing short of a patronizing slap-back to four women of color who represent the future of the Democratic Party, a stark example of its generational and demographic transition.

The California Democrat is taking the offensive on the issue two weeks after her party was split bitterly over a $4.6 billion border bill. When Conway - the woman credited for coining the nonsensical term "alternative facts" - caught wind of it, she told Fox News about the "huge catfight" that she called a "major meow moment". If the courts ruled POTUS can't block people on Twitter, why would @AOC think she can get away with silencing her critics?
Conway hasn't yet tweeted back at Pressley.
Ocasio-Cortez has yet to respond to the pending cases. And if Carter is right that a Millennial demagogue, a rabid antisemite, and an alleged brother-marrying anti-American migrant best represent the Democrats' "next generation" of political talent, then I'm not sure there is much of a next generation.
She added: "More people like us, people of color have been missing in the chamber because most of us - and Ayanna Pressly says it more beautifully - people that are closest to the pain need to be at the table making these decisions".
Several prominent liberal activists, such as former Obama administration official Brian Fallon - now at Demand Justice, an organizing group - also chimed in with support.
"The Democrat Majority Makers have voted with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez 91.72 percent of the time", the report said.
